As we near the final steps of our Annual Operating Plan (AOP) journey, we turn to a practice that is both practical and profoundly spiritual: reflecting on the past. In business terms, we call it Historical Performance Analysis. But in the language of Servant Leadership, it’s something deeper—it’s remembering with purpose.

Throughout Scripture, God calls His people to remember:

“Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other.”— Isaiah 46:9 (NIV)

Invite God into the process. Thank Him for provision, ask for forgiveness where needed, and seek wisdom for what’s next.

  • Moses regularly reminded Israel of their journey—failures and all—to prepare them for the Promised Land.

  • David reflected on past victories and defeats in the Psalms, drawing strength and perspective.

  • Jesus often referenced past teachings and prophecies to guide His disciples forward.
