A few days ago, I "liked" a post on LinkedIn. The post was from someone I have never met regarding his recent "personal record" or PR. I didn't like it because of his making a new PR of 325 lbs. back squat. No. I liked it because he said that his goal was to make himself 1% better today than he was yesterday.

Servant Leader, isn't that a great, simple way to explain our purpose here? Our role as servant leaders is to influence our company, our team, our people, and ourselves to be 1% better today than they/we were yesterday. It really is that simple.

So, no long diatribe today. Today I leave a simple reminder to make the world 1% better for your having been there. After all, if we all strive to make things better for everyone else, then everyone wins.

“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”
Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’  This is the first and great commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’  On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” (Matt 22:36-40, NKJV)

To the 1%ers, I salute you.
