If you've read my blogs, you know that I talk a lot about servant leadership. If you ran the numbers, you would probably find north of 90% of my posts deal with servant leadership in business. Why, you may ask, is servant leadership so important to me?
Servant leadership is important because it's a way for me to pass along the many undeserved blessings I have received to others who may feel equally undeserving.
Don't get me wrong. As a Christian, I firmly believe in the veracity of scripture and that...
all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Rom 3:23, NKJV)
But that's where the good news begins, fellow Servants. And that's why I post so often about the benefits of servant leadership.
Just today I submitted a proposal after working with an awesome team of knowledgeable, thoughtful, humble, service-minded professionals. My experience working with this team has been a blessing in itself. Beyond that, I learned about myself, about my limitations, and about my willingness to serve in all circumstances.
You see, Servant Leader, it's easy to talk service when you are leading. But true servant leadership thrives in the service as much as in the leadership.
Today's post is short, but I hope you find its meaning. Service is the better part of servant leadership. As such, we should revel in the opportunities to serve more than in the opportunities to lead. For in that service, we truly find the leader within.
God bless you, Servant Leader, and may He bless my team and my team's efforts. May I give Him the glory in our victory.
Selah.
